Frequently Asked Questions
- How much does drywall work cost?
- Costs depend on the type of work. Drywall installation typically runs $2.00–$4.50 per square foot. Repairs start around $150 for small patches. Taping costs $1.50–$3.00 per square foot. Finishing ranges from $1.75–$4.00 per square foot depending on finish level. Popcorn ceiling removal runs $3–$6 per square foot. We provide free written estimates for every project.
- Do you offer free estimates?
- Yes. Every estimate is free and comes with no obligation. For most projects, we visit your property, measure the space, discuss your needs, and provide a clear written quote within 24–48 hours.
- How quickly can you start my project?
- We can usually provide a same-day or next-day estimate. Most projects start within one week of estimate approval, depending on scope and our current schedule.
- What areas do you serve?
- We serve Brampton (our home base), Mississauga, Caledon, Vaughan, Milton, Halton Hills/Georgetown, Oakville, and West Toronto. No travel surcharges for any of these areas.
- Are you licensed and insured?
- Insurance and WSIB coverage details are available on request. Confirm the exact coverage and wording before launch.
- Do you work on both residential and commercial properties?
- Yes. We handle everything from single-room repairs in homes to full commercial fit-outs, office partitions, and multi-unit renovations.
- How long does a typical drywall project take?
- A single room repair is often completed same-day. A basement finishing typically takes 5–7 days including drying time. A full home installation and finishing runs 1–2 weeks depending on size and finish level.
- Do I need a permit for drywall work?
- Drywall installation itself usually doesn't require a permit in Ontario. However, if the project involves structural changes, new framing, electrical, or plumbing work, permits may be needed for those elements. We'll advise you during the estimate.
- What's the difference between Level 4 and Level 5 drywall finish?
- Level 4 is the standard paint-ready finish suitable for most rooms with matte or eggshell paint. Level 5 adds a full skim coat over the entire surface, creating a glass-smooth finish needed for high-gloss paint, dark colors, or rooms with critical natural side-lighting.
- Can you match the existing texture on my walls?
- Yes. Texture matching is a core part of our repair service. We match smooth, orange peel, knockdown, and other common textures so the repair blends with the surrounding wall.
- Do you remove popcorn ceilings? Is it safe?
- Yes. We safely remove popcorn (stipple) ceilings. For homes built before 1990, we recommend asbestos testing before removal — we can coordinate this testing. If asbestos is found, abatement must be done by a certified removal company before we proceed.
- Do you supply the drywall materials?
- Yes. We supply and deliver all materials as part of the project. The cost is included in your quote. If you've already purchased materials, we can work with what you have.
- How do you handle dust during drywall sanding?
- We use dust containment measures including plastic sheeting, floor protection, and dust-controlled sanding equipment where possible. We clean up thoroughly when done.
- Do you offer a warranty on your work?
- Yes. We provide a workmanship warranty on all projects. If a joint cracks or a tape fails due to our work, we'll come back and fix it.
- Can I get a quote over the phone?
- For simple repairs (e.g., a single hole), we can often provide a ballpark over the phone. For larger projects, an on-site visit gives us the measurements and context to provide an accurate written quote.
